OK, so I am trying to retrain myself on how I hold the mouse. Being an old schooler and a mouse user from pre-scroll button days, I have always held the mouse with my pointer finger on the left button and the middle finger on the right button. Well, I finally realized awhile back that this was slowing me down when I switched weapons using the scroll wheel. So I am trying to retrain myself to hold the mouse with pointer on the left mouse button, middle finger on the scroll wheel and ring finger on the right mouse button. Is that how most of you guys are holding the mouse or are you doing something different.

Oh and the sign says the long-haired trackball people need not apply.

Do you think it would be advantageous to keep a finger on the scroll wheel? I am starting to think it would be.

Perhaps. However, I've already been using my index finger for the scroll wheel for so long that it would take quite a while to train myself to do otherwise.

Sometimes, I will three finger it the way you described, but most times I find myself with my middle finger rested precaiously on the edge of the scroll wheel such that I can scroll easily and I I want to right click I lean my finer to the right and down.
