Here at Catacombz.com, we have decided to mix things up a little and try something new for Catacombz 13.0 (June 19-20). For the first time ever we are going to offer early bird registration with a discount for those who sign up! Hopefully this will help not only get attendees signed up early, but it will also help us to secure even more sponsors which translates into more swag for you! We are opening up 25 seats at a discounted price of $15, and those who attend our March 26th Mini-Combz will have the first option of securing their seat. In order to secure your seat, you must register and pay the $15 registration fee that night. If we do not sell all 25 early bird seats at the Mini-Combz, the remaining seats will go up for grabs here on Catacombz.com the following evening, Saturday March 27, at 7:00pm and will remain available until midnight. Only those who register and pay before midnight will be allowed to secure their discounted seat. So, we hope to see a great turnout for this Mini-Combz. Hope to see you there! |

Hey people, I've updated the event schedule up to and including Catacombz 13.0, and also copied over the directions to the new building at SIC into the schedule as well. We hope to see you at the events. On another topic, every once in a while I try to gather input from all of you regarding what games you'd like to see played at our events. And so I bring this same question to you once again. We want to avoid monotony as much as possible at our events. Granted, there haven't been a great deal of good PC games released in a while, but there are options out there. What would YOU like to see played at a LAN party? Click the link below and chime in on our forums. Regardless of whether or not you're a regular attendee of our events, I'd really like to hear your input. Catacombz Forums: Great LAN Games?? |

Happy New Year everyone! It's now 2010. It's a new year, a new decade, and generally time for change all around. In fact, for the first time in years, everyone's favorite local LAN party (read: Catacombz/Mini-Combz) will be changing venues. For the first event of 2010, our Mini-Combz event on January 15 will be held at Southeastern Illinois College inside the conference center of Building G. In case you need directions, not to worry because I've got you covered (at least I hope the following gets you there!). If you are traveling east through Harrisburg on route 13, just continue straight through the city and you'll find College Road (along with a big sign) on the left about 5 miles east of Harrisburg. If you're coming from Eldorado on route 142, continue south out of Eldorado and College Road will veer off to the right shortly after the intersection with route 45. Here's a link to the college so you can find your way there: Next, you'll need to know where to go on-campus. For starters, you'll want to enter the college using the SOUTH entrance, not the primary North entrance. Additionally, I've provided this cheesy nifty little map to help you navigate your way to the correct building. (click map for larger view): That about does it. However, if you think you may need further assistance finding the new venue, please don't hesitate to contact me. Also, be sure to pass this information along to any of your friends that may be attending as well. We'd hate for people to show up at the old location ready to game, only to find the building empty. We had a great turnout for our final event of 2009, and are really hoping to keep that momentum moving forward throughout 2010, so come on out and get your frag on! |

Hey people... I've got one more quick update for you. I've just been notified by the owner of GameSkulls (one of our sponsors) that the price has been reduced on their GS-1 Tactical Helmet for the holidays. It is now on sale for $59.95, which is 33% off of the standard retail price of $89.95. Furthermore, if you enter the coupon code "CATACOMBZ" (no quotes) at the checkout, you will get an additional $10.00 off of your order, bringing it to $49.95! As an added bonus, they are also including a free GameSkulls T-shirt as well as an XBox 360 or PS3 adapter. This package is only good through the end of the year, so act now if you'd like to get your hands on this great offer. If you haven't seen this item yet, head on over to their website (www.gameskulls.com ) and check it out! |

Hey there everyone...I figured it was about time I post an update, so here we go! First of all, I'd like to thank everyone that came out and made Catacombz 12.0 a great event! Even though our attendance was down a little from previous events, we kept the gaming action going through the night, and had a great time doing so. We even managed to get a 3 on 3 Call of Duty 4 tournament rolling. The action was fierce and competitive, but in the end, the team of Stric9, sockgoblin, and Intrepidus took the victory. Congratulations guys! Also, our sponsors really pulled through for us once again for this event. They are kind enough to support us, so please support them! Our next Catacombz event will likely be sometime around May or June of 2010, so please keep an eye on the site for important details about that event. However, don't forget that we still hold monthly Mini-Combz events as well. Just as a reminder, these events are only $5.00 to attend, and that covers your pizza and soda cost as well. Our next Mini-Combz is currently scheduled for December 18, so be sure to check it out. At some point in the next couple of months, I will be migrating Catacombz.com over to a new server. During this time, you may have trouble accessing the site. However, while the site is offline, I will continue to post important information to our various social networking sites as well. If you have not already added us on those pages, please do so to help us expand our network. Also, be sure to check out the newest social networking site that we've recently joined called Meet A Gamer. This is a site that is built by gamers, for gamers, intending to connect gamers from all over the globe on a single networking site. Check it out, and be sure to add us. Finally, for all who attended Catacombz 12.0, I have added a new poll to the page for you to voice your opinion. I hope that you all had a good time, but if you didn't, please let us know why. We are constantly trying to improve our events, and welcome all comments and constructive criticism on how to do just that. That's all for now. See you at the events! |
