To get right to it....the next Mini-Combz event is this Friday (9/21) at 7pm. We hope to have a good turn-out at this event, and anyone wishing to pay for their entry into Catacombz 9.0 can do so. Remember, as soon as you have been marked as paid, you can then choose your seat.

Also relating to Catacombz, it has come to my attention that there is a bug in the login script. Specifically, it seems that Internet Explorer users are having some difficulty logging in at all. Upon a few tests myself, it seems that I.E. allows the user to login, but never updates the page to show the "registered user features". For example, even though I logged in successfully with I.E., it wouldn't let me register for the event until I "logged in".

Oddly enough, Firefox seems to be uneffected by this issue. I am researching it as we speak and hope to have a fix up very soon. In the meantime, anyone who wants to register can either use Firefox, or just drop me a message and I'll register you myself.

That's about all for now. Catacombz 9.0 is now less than a month away, so get registered soon!

*Update* - I really don't understand this issue. I've just tried another account with I.E., and now it works just fine. Until I can figure this out, if you are having an issue logging in, please drop me a line. All I can suggest at the moment is to clear your cookies and restart your browser.

Image I'd like to inform everyone of a new company that has just agreed to sponsor us for Catacombz 9.0. They are SteelSeries.com. They specialize in various peripherals including gaming surfaces, mice, headsets, and many more items. So, check them out! Maybe they'll have the piece of equipment you need to get the edge you've been looking for.

Catacombz 9.0 registration is now open!! Go ahead and get signed up and contact me if you have any questions.

Also, if everyone could take a minute and verify that your contact information is correct in your profile, I'd greatly appreciate it. While you're in there, feel free to add some information to your gaming profile for the site. If nothing else, add your "Gaming Handle" so that I can use that list to generate ID tags.

See you all at Catacombz 9.0!

Catacombz 9.0 & Next Mini-Combz

Just a couple of brief notes I wanted to pass along...

Registration for Catacombz 9.0 will officially open this Friday, September 7. I've still got a couple of minor changes to make to the registration system, but it will be very similar to what you are all used to using. Please note that only those who have been marked as "paid" will be able to choose a seat on the new seating map. So, pay early to choose early.  :)

Also, our next Mini-Combz event is coming up on September 21. So those of you who are planning on attending Catacombz 9.0 and would rather pay cash than with PayPal, this will be the last event before Catacombz to do so.

Finally, I created a new topic in the "Site Comments / Suggestions" section of the forum for reporting any bugs you may find on this site. The site is still new, and there are bound to be a few snags here and there that need addressing. However, it will be very easy for me to overlook them, and could use your help to get them corrected. So, anything that you may find that produces an error, or perhaps just doesn't look quite right, let me know and I'll do my best to get it corrected.

Later...

Welcome to the New Catacombz.com!

It's been long overdue, but the time is finally here. Catacombz.com has finally gotten a much needed makeover. We're actually using a completely new CMS (Content Management System) than before, but I tried to keep it as similar as possible to the old design, while still exploring all the new options we now have available.

While virtually everything has been transferred into the new design, I've left the old design in tact at www.catacombz.com/archive in case anyone starts feeling nostalgic. However, that site will no longer be used, and no further updates will be posted to it. In this new format, I've gone to great lengths to ensure a seemless transition for you, the end user. All user accounts, passwords, e-mail addresses, and forum posts have been transferred into the new database for use on this site. So, feel free to login using the same username/password you've used previously.

What else is new?

Well for one, I've added a new flash arcade with score-keeping abilities to the list. You must be logged in for it to record the score to your user name, otherwise it will just get credited to "ArcadeGuest". So, login and give it a shot. I've got over 50 games online and ready to play right now, and plan to add more as time allows.

If you place a high score in the arcade, it will automatically post that score to our new shoutbox. It's a bit more fancy than our last one as it auto-refreshes every so often to pull new messages being posted, without refreshing the entire page.

Next, I've added a script called Community Builder. I'm not 100% how popular and/or useful it will be, but it will allow anyone to create a gaming profile, if you choose to do so. Just click on "Your Profile" to access these features. There's also a way to create "links" amongst friends. I'm not really sure what it's for yet, but play around with it and check it out.

Finally, I've added a new script for Catacombz registration and maintenance complete with an online seatmap. Registration for Catacombz 9.0 is currently open, but I haven't made the official announcement yet because I still have a few more things to add to this section.

So, check things out and let me know what you think. Also, please report any bugs you may find to me. I'm fairly confident that I've worked out most of the major bugs, but I'll do my best to keep this site running strong. I still have more things to add before I can call it 100% ready, but I wanted to get it online so all of you could get involved and check it out.
