Let me start off by saying i think this was one of the best Catacombz we have had in a long time and i have a lot of ppl to thank.
We had a great turn out of 46 gamers which i believe is a new high and a sunday roster of 32 gamers which is by far the most we have had stay over to game throughout the event.
Tons of games were played. As always the classics (COD:UO, BF1942, Warcraft 3) plus some fear:combat, Joint Ops, Dawn of War, Trackmania and i cant remember the rest.
I think the only way it could of been better was if we would of had some more sponsors come through for us on the prizes.
Now to the thanks, first off to all the gamers - if you didn't come out and provide the atmosphere that is Catacombz we wouldn't have these events, Also to the guys who help setup and tear down the help is always greatly appreciated . DeZaStR - if you were not around we wouldn't have the great website, nametags, stickers and everything else that you do for Catacombz and the events.
Again i want to thank everyone for the great event and i hope you had as good a time as i know a lot of us did, and remember if you have any ideas, opinions or complaints don't be afraid to contact myself or get on our forums. |

The time is nearly here once again. The next installment of Southern Illinois' longest running LAN gaming tradition is right around the corner. This coming Saturday morning will begin the onslaught of caffeine, insults, duct-tapings, and of course all the gaming goodness you can cram into a weekend.
The event is ALMOST sold out. With only one seat left, it's very likely that we will be at max attendence. However, I'd like to remind anyone else who's thinking of signing up that we do have a waiting list put in place for our events. This means that even if we get 50 signed up now, someone could cancel, opening the seat for the next person on the waiting list. Just sign up as normal and watch the site. However, if you are already signed up, but will NOT be attending, please cancel your registration as soon as possible so others may have the opportunity to come.
See you all at Catacombz 8.0! |

We are now less than two weeks out from Catacombz 8.0. We still have about 9 seats left, so if you're planning on attending, get signed up! :P
Also, a couple of reminders...
Anyone who is wanting to sit in groups with other attendees needs to contact us as soon as possible to make the necessary arrangements. In addition to seating, if you are wanting something different on your ID tag than your current user name, you'll need to let us know very soon as well. |

Long ago in the 0sD.. many a night was spent in a brutal contest of StarCraft. The battles were intense to say the least, with alliances being formed and then broken during every match. Only the quick survived.. Now, once again, it will soon be time to bear arms as those cheeky bastards over at BliZZarD, are once again poised to liberate a few coins from our collective pockets when they release: StarCraft II - Very good cinematics!

Our last Mini-Combz event was last Friday. Attendance was down a little bit, due to several regular members being unable to attend. We tried adding a couple of new games to our regular mix. The first being Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, which went over fairly well I think. The second was Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, which didn't have as many trying it out. I think both would become worthy additions to our regular gamelist if we can get a few supporters for them. Speaking of game variety and whatnot, I'd like to remind everyone to please voice your opinion in our forums. We do want everyone to have a good time at our events, so if there is anything we can to improve, please let us know. There is currently a thread about Catacombz 8.0 in the "Upcoming Events" section of our forums. Registration is progressing nicely for Catacombz 8.0, as we are almost to our halfway point. If you haven't registered yet, but do plan on attending, please do so as soon as possible. Also, spread the word to your friends about us. Let's see if we can't max this event out. That's about all for now. See you at Catacombz! |

Hey people...
Sorry it has taken me so long to post this, but my life has been a bit busy these days. Yours truly is now a father! My baby girl was born on March 24, 2007.
The next Mini-Combz is scheduled for April 27, 2007 and will be held, as usual, at the Eldorado Community Center. Setup will begin around 6:00pm, with gaming set to kick off by 7:00pm.
Also, keep watching the site in the coming days for information to be posted on Catacombz 8.0. It's right around the corner, and I'll have the official event dates posted soon. Registration will also officially open very soon.
See you at Mini-Combz! |

Ahh....it's good to be back!
Mini-Combz has seemingly been a little in the slumps for a couple of months with attendence on the decline, but last night, we returned to our full glory. I believe the final head count was somewhere around 23-25. We had a couple of new faces, some faces that we hadn't seen in a while, and plenty of regulars to hand out the regular dose of virtual beatings.
Surprisingly, Call of Duty didn't make much of an appearance at this event. The games that ruled the night were Warcraft 3 (both Panda Tag and 3 Corridors), Desert Combat (OLD SCHOOL!), and Age of Empires 2. As usual there were other games played as well, but these seemed to be the primary ones that received the most attention. Also, a couple of our attendees brought their Nintendo Wii's with them, and we set them up on a projector on the main wall. It added a pretty fun way to pass the time between PC games.
Ok, now the part that I've been dreading.
Friday was this poster's 30th birthday, and several of my family members and perhaps even a few event regulars (*cough* g0dfath3r *cough*) set me up for a red face. It seems they decided to hire a stripper for me. No, not that kind of stripper. Instead, it was one of my family members all dressed up for the role. So, as I sacrifce my pride at the expense of your entertainment, I present the pics from that particular encounter:
All things considered, I think it's safe to say we all had a hell of a time. Our next event is scheduled for March 30, so make sure to be there to get in on the action!
